"Multiple stays and looking forward to more. Includes use of the house with a full kitchen and living room with a fireplace. Excellent setting on land full of wildlife. The accommodations are wonderful, the location is unbeatable and the price is right. And Kim is wonderful!"

“Our December stay at Kim’s home was absolutely delightful. Kim was an exceptional host who ensured our comfort throughout the visit. The bedrooms were spotless, with bedding that made for truly restful sleep, and having a kitchen was a huge plus. The cozy ambiance made us feel at home right away. Best of all, the home is conveniently located right on Highway 7, just minutes from the main birding area, making it ideal for photographers.”
Heather L.
“Kim was a fantastic host - friendly and attentive throughout our stay. Her place is perfectly located, just minutes away from some of the best birding areas in the bog, which made our trip especially enjoyable. The bedroom we stayed in was very clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing visit. Considering how close the property is to the top birdwatching spots, the price is unbeatable. We definitely felt right at home and would gladly stay here again!”
Kayla L.
“Stayed with Kim for almost a week. It was like staying with a family member you haven’t seen in a while. Warm, welcoming and very accommodating. Every time I go to the bog, I am going to try to stay at Kim’s place.”
Jason H.
“Kim is an amazing host but best of all a special soul. Willing to share home and knowledge. Highly recommend staying there. And plus, I slept like a baby that sleeps through the night. Perfect spot.”

“Staying at Kim's place is like a home away from home. Cozy warm atmosphere when sitting by the fire, or getting out and taking in all the natural beauty that surrounds her beautiful home. I highly recommend it!!!”

"I've stayed at a handful of lodgings outside, beside or near the Bog. When staying at Kim's "Hidden Gem" it positions me less than a minute from the gateway into the Sax Zim Bog. The two hottest roads to be on entering the Bog - quite easily Hwy 7 and Arkola. Not only is Kim's the most convenient place to stay, but in time you gain a friend for life. Kim's accommodations put you in the front row of the Bog. As someone who knows the Bog inside and out, there's not a better location to begin at. I also don't have to drive very far in the dark from the Bog to Kim's. Her location alone allows me to avoid such dangers as spending more time on slick, icy roads but also diminishes the chances I could run into deer. To be mere minutes from her dwelling, ensures not only my safety but that my time is maximized. And if you really get to know Kim, you may also be able to experience her out of this world cooking! There is zero reason to stay anywhere - BUT, Kim's "Hidden Gem." Come to Kim's accommodations where you will spend half the amount you would in Duluth. Heck, you might even wake up to a Saw Whet owl, Great Gray owl or a black bear on her property. Kim's accommodations also put you close to the road to one of the best cafes in Saint Louis county - Wilbert Cafe. It's only 10 minutes away."

“Thanks for welcoming me into your home. It felt like I was staying with a friend. Your property is beautiful, the beds were very comfortable and your place is so close to all the action. It's such a relaxing atmosphere, and you make it so comfortable. I love that your property is right in the river!! Thanks again. I hope to be back in March!!”

“Clean, warm, comfortable, and cozy. Everything one needs and would want at a wonderfully affordable price. Rustic charm, and close to the bog. A very wonderful host too!”
William J.
We have spent the last two nights here at Kim’s and she offers fantastic hospitality. The location is perfect for easy access in all directions. LOTS of bird activity on her beautiful grounds is a bonus. Would stay again if we can make it back some winter. THANK YOU, Kim, for offering us your home!

“Wonderful place to stay, very affordable, super close to the Bog, and very convenient to have a full kitchen and living space to use!”
Alphonsus D.
"The Hidden Gem is a perfect name for these accommodations. You just can't beat this lodging location in the Sax Zim Bog area. Only a couple minutes from popular Owl roads and other amazing wildlife in almost every direction. I've even found my favorite owl right in the backyard! The price also can't be beat. I used to pay so much more to stay farther away, or car camp for free and be uncomfortable. Now neither my wallet nor my back takes the hit when I stay in this area of Minnesota. And Kim herself has been nothing short of a wonderful host every stay I've had. She would have coffee ready in the morning if I wanted. I would highly recommend staying at The Hidden Gem over any other!"
